Sardar Patel Institute of Education is devoted exclusively empowerment through education. The institution is affiliated to Rani Durgawati Vishvidyalaya, Jabalpur. It is successfully running a B.Ed., course with an annual intake of 100 students annually since 2008.

It has a rich library with 4709 titles and well equipped Psychology lab, Computer lab, Science lab besides Common Room and a big hall for cultural activities. The College has a sprawling play ground just adjoining to its building. The College is backed with infrastructural support of its founding body, the GLOBAL NATURE CARE SANGTHAN JABALPUR. College building is fully air conditioned and well equipped with Edu-Comp Smart Classes. Ample of space has been allocated for Principal's room, Staff-room, Laboratories, Classrooms, Library, Office, Hall, Water-room along with verandahs for spacious and comfortable learning place. In addition, the sports facilities and ground adds to the overall infrastructure of the institute. Infrastructural Facilities:

a) Adequate provision is made for classrooms, hall, laboratory space for conducting instructional activities for approved intake, separate rooms for the principal, faculty members, office for the administrative staff and a store. The size of instructional spaces per student as per norms.

b) The library is equipped with text and reference books related to the prescribed courses of study, educational Encyclopedia, year books, electronic publications (CD-ROMs) and journals on teacher education.

c) Games facilities, facilities for yoga, indoor games, etc. Instructional Facilities Well equipped laboratory with adequate apparatus required to perform and demonstrate the experiments prescribed in the syllabus is provided as per requirements. • Bachelor of Education In India, Bachelor of Education( B.Ed ) is a course offered for those interested in pursing career in teaching.The B.Ed degree is mandatory for teaching in primary and higher secondary schools. The minimum qualification required for entry into BEd course is Bachelor of Arts( B.A ) or Bachelor of Science ( BSc ). While students from arts stream are trained to teach subjects like history, civics, geography and languages, the students from science stream are trained to teach mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology. After BEd, students can pursue Master in Education ( MEd.) in Indian universities. National Council for Teacher Education is statutory body which regulates course in teaching in India. PRESENT STATUS OF ADMISSION - 100% admissions have take place in academic year 2015-16. The norms and specifications for admission, accredition, criteria and norms for Bachelor of Education and related programmes have been provided by NATIONAL COUNCIL FOR TEACHER EDUCATION, New Delhi as follows: The secondary teacher education programme, commonly known as B.Ed., is meant for preparing teachers for secondary/senior secondary schools.

Duration and Intake:

a) The B.Ed. programme shall be of a duration of two academic years.

b) There shall be a unit of 100 students for ensuring optimum utilisation of physical and instructional infrastructure and expertise of the teaching staff. Division into appropriate batches may be done at the institutional level for effective curriculum transaction.

Eligibility:

a) Candidates with at least 50% marks in the Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree with at least two school subjects at the graduation level are eligible for admission.

b) Admission should be made either on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination or in the entrance examination conducted by the University/State Government, as per the policy of the State Government/University, to which the institution is affiliated. Admissions take place through online counseling conducted by State Government on merit basis.
